LOVED BY SKI TOURING FANS AND PASSIONATE HIKERS

This short but steep tour starts at the mountain station of Merano 2000 and then runs along trail no. 18A to the Malga Waidmann inn. Continue past the famous chapel of St Oswald and head uphill to Rifugio Kuhleiten along trail no. 19A – you'll need plenty of stamina, and having snow-shoes or touring skis will definitely help.

But once you've reached the Rifugio Kuhleiten inn at the foot of the majestic Mount Ivigna, you'll be rewarded with stunning 360° panoramic views as far as the Zillertal and Ötztal Alps, the Ortles and Gruppo Tessa ranges and all the way into the Dolomites. And at the inn, hosts Christine and Ulrich will spoil you with the very finest South Tyrolean cuisine.

! OUR TIP: If you want to shorten the way, take the Cableway Naifjoch to the mountain hut Waidmann and start your hike from here. The 3-Lift-Ticket >
