From the mountain station of Merano 2000, head down trail no. 3, which winds down the hillside. When you reach trail no. 14, continue along it until you get to Kirchsteiger mountain hut. There, hop on the Mittager chairlift and let it conveniently take you to the top at 2290 m. The chairlift is equipped with special carrier fixtures that will safely transport your bicycle. Cyclists who are in good shape can alternatively climb the approx. 350 m in altitude by riding past Öttenbach mountain hut along the trails no. 14, 10A and 10, which are relatively even at first and then become pretty steep.

Once you've reached the top, head towards Piccolo Mittager and then take a left down a narrow and rocky patch that leads to Kesselberg mountain hut.

To return, start off on trail no. 13, a scenic route dotted with panoramic views. Trail no. 18/A will then take you back to the mountain station at Pivigna.

Alternatively, head downhill to Öttenbach mountain hut along the trails no. 10 and 10A. Trail no. 14, an even forestry road, will take you to Meraner mountain hut. Stop here for a well-deserved break, delicious refreshments and to charge the battery of your e-bike. Return to trail no. 14 and head towards Parete Rossa mountain hut. Just before the inn, you can either take trail no. 18, which winds all the way up the hillside to the ropeway mountain station for about 180 m, or you can dash downhill to the valley station of the Gondola Falzeben.
